Media Release Tuesday 19th February, 2013

As Digital Media Sales climb, it’s time to get Mobile!

Last week, the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) announced that the number of newspapers reporting sales of digital media offerings jumped from 34 (June 2012) to 59 (current period). Interestingly, key areas of growth were Country Press and Magazine categories.

ABC chief executive Paul Dovas encouraged other publications to follow suit. “The reporting of digital and total masthead sales captures the changing publishing experience and allows publishers to show how readers are interacting with their brands across print and digital platforms,”

Google ranks Australia as 4th in the world in terms of smartphone penetration (52%). The next wave of the digital revolution is obviously Mobile. According to business consultants Deloitte Access Economics, there was 156% growth in mobile impressions in Australia over the past year making it one of the fastest growing advertising platforms available. If Australia’s media elite aren’t already monetizing mobile, it’s time to act. Fast.

Australian media revenue consultancy inXcess Pty Ltd secured in late 2012, the rights to launch break-through 3rd generation mobile advertising technology into the Australian, New Zealand, UK and South African marketplaces – in partnership with Swedish company, Mobile Loyalty.

The platform offers market leading and responsive application functionality to publish news and integrated interactive mobile advertising on phones, tablets and other mobile enable devices. The solution is scalable and profitable for both the media company and their advertisers. Excitingly for local media companies, the technology allows for a new and reinforced revenue stream above existing returns and without excessive upfront costs or extensive resources required from the media company’s perspective.

Listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in July 2011 and listed on Sweden’s Aktietorget in January 2012, Mobile Loyalty signed inXcess as their licensed reseller in September 2012.

inXcess pty ltd is Australia’s leading media revenue consultancy firm, implementing innovative projects that attract new revenue. Current clients include: Seven West Media Group (Seven Network Operations and The West Australian), News Limited, Fairfax Regional Media, and Independent News and Media (Ireland).
