The Director of inXcess Pty Ltd, Cheryl Newsom has worked in the media industry over the past 18 years in a variety of senior sales and management roles. With a specific focus on newspapers for 10 of these years, Cheryl has spent a significant proportion of time implementing programs designed to grow her client’s customer base and to simultaneously secure forward contracts with new customers. 

Most of Cheryl’s work has been in educating SMEs on the most effective ways they can market their business through their local media. In a short period of time, inXcess has gained a reputation in the media industry as a dynamic company with the ability to deliver proven revenue generation solutions for it’s media clients and much of this has been due to Cheryl’s leadership. 

Cheryl was a key note speaker at the CEO's conference during the WAN-IFRA 'Publish Asia' Expo in Chennai, India in September 2009.

It is Cheryl’s goal for inXcess to be the #1 multi media revenue generation consultancy in the southern hemisphere.

With a background also extending into Radio and Political media platforms, Cheryl’s eye for detail is strong and she is always on the lookout for innovative and unique ways that inXcess can extend their product offering to best meet its client’s every changing needs.

Nicola Walsh

Consultant, inXcess Pty Ltd

An honours graduate of the Queensland University of Technology, with degrees in Business and Media Communications, Nicola has worked with inXcess for the past 5 years across a range of different programs.

Most of Nicola’s work has been in project managing inXcess’ various programs by developing valuable relationships with clients and assisting them with every step of program implementation. In particular, Nicola has a passion for inXcess' online auction platform. She has developed her expertise in this exciting area to ensure that her media clients can have access to proven methods and valuable insights for achieving the best possible revenue results.

Mitch Crowe

Consultant, inXcess Pty Ltd

Mitch has a background in sales and marketing and has previously held positions with Asia-Pacific based agencies.

Prior to joining inXcess, Mitch had responsibility for managing ‘Go to Market’ strategy development and implementation for world-leading brands across a broad range of industries including Agricultural Equipment, Automotive, ‘Big Shop’ Retailing, Heavy Machinery, Media and Pharmaceutical.

Mitch’s passion is driving incremental revenue and creating WIN WIN WIN solutions through a focus on performance management and accountability. At inXcess, Mitch concentrates on Business and Sponsorship Development and is heavily involved in project managing Client Campaigns.

Qualified in Business Administration, Marketing, Management and Human Resources, Mitch is also a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM)with the Australian Marketing Institute.

 

Sarah Maynard

Finance Manager & Assistant Consultant, inXcess Pty Ltd

With over 8 years of sales experience working in the media industry, having started her career with Channel Seven and further progressed in roles with WIN and Channel Ten, Sarah is a perfect fit with the inXcess team. 

Sarah completed her Diploma in Business in 2002, has great business sense and manages all the inXcess Finances as well as keeping the inXcess team on their toes through managing the Head Office in Orange.

 

Katrina Gay

Marketing Manager & Project Co-ordinator, inXcess Pty Ltd

Katrina is one of newer members of the inXcess team. A graduate of the University of Canberra (Katrina has degrees in Management and Marketing), she has worked in the marketing industry for 9 years, with Regional, National and International brands.  With a passion for building positive brand reputations, and increasing brand awareness and profiles through effective communication avenues, Katrina is also a perfect fit with the inXcess team.

Since joining the inXcess team at the beginning of 2011, Katrina has thrived and particularly enjoys working with new media initiatives.  Assisting with the implementation of inXcess' forward sales programs is Katrina's primary focus however she is also working on developing inXcess' profile in the global media industry.

Don Thomson

Director, inXcess UK Ltd

Don Thomson has over 30 years experience in the broadcast media business, building highly successful businesses from scratch and turning around ailing ones.

Starting with Piccadilly Radio, then moving forward from there with LWT, The Radio Sales Company. In 1994 Don became the founder Sales Director for Chrysalis Radio’s first radio station, Heart FM.  He played a major part in building Chrysalis Radio to UK’s third largest radio group, developing today’s leading commercial radio brands, Heart, Galaxy and LBC.

In 2007 Chrysalis Radio was sold to Global Radio and Don became the Chief Operating Officer of the new group. He subsequently played a leading role in the acquisition of GCAP Media, including preparing the merger case for the OFT hearing. The outcome created the largest radio group in the UK.

After leaving in September 2009, Don has served on a number of industry boards during his career including Chairman of the Manchester Publicity Association, Chairman of Hit40UK Ltd, Radio Advertising Bureau, Digital Radio Development Bureau and BCAP.

In October 2009 Don created the Media Diagnostics business consultancy and he now advises a number of media companies on corporate strategy, acquisition and mergers, organisation, integration and new business start-ups.

Don joined forces with Cheryl to launch inXcess UK in June 2011, a very exciting venture for both.
